Shinto is a unique and very Japanese-centric religion. I originally studied Shinto in-depth in 2005 just prior to writing this paper. Of all the papers I have ever shared publically, this one generated the most enthusiasm. I have had a few people from different parts of the world tell me by email and in person that this paper helped them understand Shinto better, so I am sharing it here on my new website.
